I got an ipod

July 15, 2006

After months of watching the rest my family use and enjoy their ipods, I finally made the leap and bought one for myself.

I have discovered that they are not too difficult to use. I tend to be pretty dense um… technically challenged…..when it comes to electronic devices. Embarrassingly enough, my ten year old daughter knows more about it all than I do. I guess I have to feel reassured that she won’t have to rely on any BOY to do those things for her?

So, with some help, I got some songs on the thing and got up early this morning for a walk. Trust me when I tell you that not only am I technically challenged, I am also quite lazy um…physically challenged…. when it comes to exercise. I started out at about 7:15. Not many other people were up yet, and at first I walked and just listened to the birds chirping. I saw about ten rabbits, some sandhill cranes, a snail. I saw a SNAIL. It was huge! When do I ever stop to look at a snail? It was so utterly peaceful and it was even pretty reasonably cool out.

Eventually I popped my ear buds in and turned on the tunes, and as I walked and listened I did a lot of thinking. And I wondered why I never did this before. It was awesome and a good release, and I will do it again.

It was the best I have felt in a long time.

Trentism

While tagging along as I browsed in my favorite store at the mall, Trent says of the mannequins:

“Mom, how come EVERY TIME we come here these people with no feet are ALWAYS here?”

To Hell and Back

July 8, 2006

That’s where I have been for the last two weeks or so. It was hot. I got burned. I have scars. I am healing.

The events of my life have not been “postable”, but I am glad to be back. I missed you.
